Your injection tariff at Frank Énergie is based on the EPEX Spot price: the European wholesale electricity market where prices are set hour by hour, based on real supply and demand across the grid.
When there's a lot of electricity available on the market, for example during a sunny afternoon when solar production is high, the EPEX price is lower. When demand rises in the evening and production drops, prices go up again.
Each month, an injection tariff per kWh is set. Your excess electricity is valued at this rate, and the amount is then deducted from your electricity bill.

Decrease in the Injection Tariff
Many French homeowners are discovering that the EDF OA contract offers a feed-in tariff of 1.1 euro cents per kWh.
The end of guaranteed prices
The state-backed tariff model is giving way to a new one built on flexibility, market pricing, and smart technology.
Grid congestion
Integrating more renewable energy without causing instability requires greater control over how electricity is fed back into the grid.

Without smart steering, your solar panels only work at half their potential Frank Smart Storage connects to your home battery and monitors EPEX prices in real time. It decides automatically when your battery should charge, when it should discharge, and when to feed electricity back into the grid. You don't set anything manually. Frank handles it, continuously, based on live market data.

The advantages of self-consumption are consuming your own electricity rather than paying for it. But adding a battery changes everything: you store the energy produced at midday and consume it in the evening, increasing your self-consumption rate from 30% to 60%. Then add a dynamic pricing contract, where you pay less when electricity is cheap, and suddenly you have a triple advantage: produce better, store better, consume cheaper.

Most energy suppliers in France still offer fixed injection tariffs. That might feel safer, but your fixed rate stays the same even when the market would pay you more for that exact electricity.
At Frank, we believe you should benefit from the true value of your electricity. That’s why we’re offering this Injection Option. Nothing is hidden behind a fixed rate that obscures what's actually happening.

Solar panel owners who add storage and smart steering today aren't just making a financial decision. They're part of what makes the energy transition actually work.
And that benefits everyone:
